
Board Secretary
Marcia Moreno-Baez is a Research Professor in Geospatial Technology at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She is a board member of Maine Big Night, a collaborating professor at the NIPPON Foundation Ocean Nexus, and an associate advisor to Andanza LLC, a consultancy promoting environmental and human well-being. Marcia is also a co-founder of dataMares and Watershed Management Group. These initiatives aim to increase access to scientific knowledge and develop community-based environmental solutions.
With over 25 years of experience in geospatial technology, Marcia has worked in government, private sectors, NGOs, and academia across the US, Mexico, and Latin America. She specializes in applying science and technology for policy, research, and workforce development. She is part of the Center for the International Environment and Resource Policy, the Climate Policy Lab, and the Henry J. Leir Institute at Fletcher. Marcia earned a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Her research focuses on the spatial impacts of environmental issues, resource policies, and fostering equity through applied research.
